1. What is the concept Behind the Chosen to be Angels Project™

The Chosen to be Angels Project is the Missing Piece Foundation signature fundraising initiative. It provides monetary support in the form of a trust to the parents of children in charitable hospitals. It also provides monetary support to Research Facilities around America whose primary focus is solving the complex puzzle of Childhood Illness. This project is unique in the fact that the children are the main participants in the fundraising process in that pictures are taken of them (with parents authorization and consent), these adorable pictures are often paired with poetry and sold in many media forms such as Calendars, Gift cards, and even a book. The Total Net proceeds go to a special account for each child who participated so the family can pay for the staggering cost of medical care for their sick child. Whether it is for medication, therapy, or medical bills, the Chosen to be Angels Project is the Missing Piece foundations way to help children and families through a very tough and trying time.

The Chosen to be Angels Project serves as a tribute to the children who have left us and joined the ranked Angels in heaven as well as a dedication to the little angels in our lives that are still with us righting for life.

2. Will the money raised through the fundraising campaign be used to balance the hospital's deficit?
No. Money raised as part of the Chosen to be Angels Project does not directly support the hospital's patient care operating budget. Money raised through fundraising supports research, equipment, and other programs that ensure that the nations premiere hospitals and institutions continue to seek and find cures for childhood illnesses.

6. Why did The Missing Piece Foundation need to an Initiative like this?
We decided to have a project like this because the costs for many of the things that make our children healthier like comprehensive pediatric healthcare and research are not covered by government funding.

7. Are procedures more expensive for children?
In many instances procedures are more expensive. There are many reasons why. For example, young patients must be sedated for treatments where adults can simply be asked to “stay still”. The financial implications can be significant as additional staff and equipment are required and procedure takes more time.
